The Belgian Tervuren's story
by Pembroke Corgie Rescue

In August, 2002, Pembroke Corgie Rescue was contacted by the Denver Dumb Friends League shelter liaison, who had found a Belgian Tervuren on her routine walk through. We were skeptical, since this is a relatively rare breed...but then the volunteer mentioned that the dog had been found in Nebraska and brought to the DDFL as a stray.

The day before, we had read a note on our Belgian email list about a show dog who got out of his yard during a rainstorm in Ogallala, Nebraska. I called the owner right away. She immediately drove to Denver and was at the Dumb Friends League when they opened the next morning. Dog and owner were happily reunited after eight long days!!

THANK YOU to all shelter liaisons and volunteers who make those very difficult visits. Your work really does pay off!
